Results for the 6/8 Proposal

The vote for the Proposal 3, the 6/8 Model has ended. Proposal 3 failed by a vote of 40 For and 60 Against.

Results were verified by Treasurer Jimmy Hughesand Secretary Dede Patterson.

Hunt test were created so amateurs could train and title their own dogs. When test run now I am one of the few amateurs handling and often the only one that trained his own dogs. Fyi, I started HT in the 1st year it existed. . It took maybe 10 years to start the trailers full of dogs taking over. My solution is 1. Limit the number of dogs per person to 5. 2.go from 3 series to 2 series 3. With 2 series a test can be done in 1 day so a person can get 2 legs in a weekend. The recent change to allow amateurs to enter the day before only gets 5 to 10 entered. This shows how few amateurs are handling a dog. Should masters be called field trials light?

  I like your train of thought. I don’t know why they only discuss 6? A title comes after 5 if you have your SH, these dogs all have their MH. If they won’t come off 6 make it 6/10, 60% in the grading system is a D, I would suggest 5/8.
  I’ve heard directly from a 2023 MN judge that the Zoom conversation is changing this years test credentials. I hope they stick to the implied changes.
