Here’s a reminder from the Idaho Transportation Department regarding a major road construction project going on near the Cascade area.

Between Smith’s Ferry Drive – High Valley Road and Round Valley Road (12 to 13 miles south of the Cascade area). Major road construction work is in progress. The road is closed intermittently. Truck speed limit 25 MPH. Width limit 11’0″. Until November 15, 2021 at about 11:59PM MDT.
Comment: Work is being done to make safety improvements on Highway 55, between Smiths Ferry and Rainbow Bridge. Work will be 24/7. THE ROAD WILL BE COMPLETELY CLOSED FROM 10AM TO 2PM MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY. All other times, expect delays due to one lane alternating traffic controlled by traffic light. *ITD recommends travelers, especially large vehicles, RVs, and trucks pulling trailers use U.S. 95 as the alternate route.
