The Master National community has lost a great friend.  Former Master National President John Blackbird, of Mora, Minnesota and longtime field trial and hunt test competitor died suddenly September 9, 2017.
Our deepest sympathies are extended to John’s wife of 34 years Karen and their two sons Joe and Jim. John is also survived by three grandsons, a sister, brothers and nieces and  nephews.
John judged the 2006 Master National and was a founding director  of the Master Amateur Retriever Club and the Greater Minnesota Hunt Test Association.
John retired after 30 years as a member of UAW Local 879 at the Ford Motor Company Assembly Plant.
