Master National is saddened to learn of the passing of former President Mike Collson. Mike was MNRC president in 2022 and judged the Master National in 2014 in Corning, CA. He died on July 29 at his home in Ridgefield, Washington. The Master National Retriever Club would like to extend their deepest sympathies to Mike’s family and friends. He gave a great deal of his time and efforts to the MNRC and will be sorely missed by the MNRC and the entire hunt test community.

Michael Lynn Collson, 63, of Ridgefield, Washington, passed away peacefully at home on July 29, 2026. Born in Newport, Oregon, Mike graduated from Oregon State University and enjoyed a long, successful career with General Mills. He was a passionate fan of OSU Beavers sports, an avid golfer, and deeply involved with the Oregon Retrievers Association and football officiating.
Above all, Mike cherished spending time with his friends, family, and especially
his grandchildren. Mike will be remembered for his kindness, quick humor, and boundless love for his family. His laughter and wisdom were true gifts to everyone who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mike’s memory to Oregon State University Women’s Basketball.
