September Edition
WE WELCOME YOU ALL TO ROSEBURG!
The entries into the event have closed and the MNRC Board of Directors are wrapping up loose ends before they begin their travel west. We felt it was important to share a little bit about what we can all expect in Roseburg for the 2026 event.
Hows the Weather? In late September through early October, you can expect brisk chilly mornings (40’ish), warming up to mid 70’s by late afternoon. Dressing in layers of clothing daily could be beneficial. Depending how warm it gets, we could have morning fog so be prepared for a little Fall moisture too. Locally, we have been doing Rain Dances, so I’d be prepared just in case our prayers get answered. Regardless, the sunsets can be gorgeous!
For your canine supplies, in Roseburg and neighboring communities, there are Tractor Supply stores that carry a variety of popular pet food brands. There are also two local feed stores; Coastal Supply and DC Co-op. Both carry similar pet food brands and supplies to those carried by Tractor Supply. Then of course there is Petco and Mini-pet mart.
For the event itself, the Douglas County Fairgrounds will be the primary location for Registration, Meetings, MNRC Merchandise, Workers Appreciation Dinner and Closing Ceremonies. Opening Ceremonies will once again be held at Melrose Vineyards, just west of Roseburg. If you didn’t get a chance to attend Melrose Vineyards in 2022, you missed out! Just ask anyone who had their fair share of fresh salmon! This year Melrose Vineyards have made some adjustments to accommodate our canines, but you must clean up after your pups.
Please. Their beverage selection has been expanded also to meet the demand. Cheers! We look forward to seeing you there!
Additional note, the Workers Appreciation Dinner is Monday Oct 5th; not the usual Tuesday.
The event location was expanded beyond the initial Roseburg/Creswell areas due to a dismal winter and matters beyond our control. Several ‘late additions’ to our event property portfolio extend further into Lane County, to our north. Significant travel between test sites should be expected. For those who haven’t made lodging accommodations yet or are considering a change, Cottage Grove Inn, a no-frills, pet friendly hotel, sits about mid-way between the northern and southern test sites. Parking is limited for larger rigs and those with trailers.
Lastly, because of the extreme drought and fire safety restrictions for both Douglas and Lane County, there will be no open flames (BBQ and/or Grills) permitted on the event properties. Additionally, smoking of any substance (cigar, cigarettes, pipes, etc) is prohibited outside of a fully enclosed vehicle while on Master National event properties. There will be no exceptions. Please remember we are all guests of the property owners. We all shall honor these conditions.
