Master National Retriever Club Foundation Annual Report

Paducah, Kentucky
September 22, 2024

Jack Morris, President of the Foundation, presented the following report at the Business Meeting on behalf of the Foundation Board.

Briefly, the MNRC Foundation, formed in 2015, is in its 10th year and is the charitable arm of the MNRC. The Foundation operates as a separate entity supporting the MNRC and is governed by its own Board of Directors. The current members of the Board are:

          Jack Morris, President

          Jimmy Hughes, Treasurer

          Lynn Teague, Secretary

          Gloria Mundell, Director

Keith Kiesow, current MNRC President, Ex Officio Director

Charles Pugh, in coming MNRC President, will become the Ex Officio Director at the conclusion of this event.

As mentioned, the Foundation is the charitable arm of MNRC. It is a 501(C)3 organization, meaning all financial contributions to the Foundation are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. And, without going into detail, rest assured the Foundation continues to remain solvent.

Our primary purpose is to support programs and projects of the MNRC. In addition to the Foundation awards program, other activities supported by the Foundation include financial support of 2 of the MNRC approved AKC Advanced Judges Seminars annually and other educational, scientific, and charitable purposes consistent with our mission, such as AKD Canine Health Foundation and Chase Away Canine Cancer Fund. Most recently, the Foundation’s funding or the Advanced Judges Seminars was the result of gifts to the Foundation in memory of Denise Tramontin.

The initial funding for the Foundation was from an anonymous donor who was keenly supportive of Master National and wished to see an Awards Program established. This same anonymous donor requested that the adult Handler of the Year Award be named in honor of MNRC Past President Bill Teague. I assure you that this humbled and embarrassed Bill, but was also a source of joy to him.

In closing, let me thank all MNRC members and participants for your past support of the Foundation and encourage you to continue to think of the MNRC Foundation when you wish to honor or memorialize a fellow dog lover, hunt test participant, or hunting friend.

If you have any questions regarding the Foundation, please reach out to me.
Jack Morris
