Carol Ullerich, a local author from Paducah, Ky. visited the 2024 Master National event and wrote about three Master National dogs and their handlers. The dogs she featured were chosen because they were of interest to her magazine audience. Her magazine, Embracing Our Age is a publication dedicated to Seniors in the Kentucky, Illinois and Tennessee area. The dogs she chose were of senior age and had faced challenges due to health issues. She was interested in knowing how older dogs faced the physical challenges of the event and how older handlers did the same.
Not a dog person herself, the author was amazed at the size of the event, and the dedication of those involved. She of course was truly speechless at seeing these wonderful retrievers perform. We hope you enjoy reading her thoughts.
