Keith Winch

Past President

Since I wrote my original bio for the Master National Retriever Club when I became the Director for Region 3, a lot has changed but some things have not. Like loving, training and competing our wonderful retrievers, Fond memories of the great ones we’ve lost. Appreciating the camaraderie of hunt test people.

There can be no greater akin than those in this hunt test sport. For me, Kathy and I moved to the western slope of Colorado when I retired and built a home on 40 acres with 7 ponds in the small town of Paonia.

It is a lot of work to manage but for the love of the dogs, it’s worth it. Over eight years ago, Larry Kimble and Gloria Mundell took confidence in me and appointed me to the Board of Directors after the 2012 event in Demopolis, AL. Larry has been a confidant and mentor which helped me through these years and now has developed into a friendship. I will always appreciate Larry and all those that have supported me.

As I begin to serve my term as President of MNRC, it is not lost with me the trials and
tribulations that my predecessor, Allen Dillard, experienced during his term amidst the Coronavirus pandemic. I hope I can rise to the level he achieved and in the end experience a successful 2021 event and joyous closing ceremony. The saying “Hind sight is 2020”: Well let’s leave 2020 in hind sight and look forward to 2021 and beyond. I’m looking forward to seeing all of you in Valley County Idaho for the 2021 MNRC HT event.

God bless all!
